NORTH GLOUCESTERSHIRE INTER CLUB JUNIOR LEAGUE
TEAMS Teams will consist of six players selected by the Team Manager or Captain.
PLAYERS A player once selected for a team, and having played in that team, they are not permitted to play in any other team entered in this league during the current year. Players must be under the age of 18 on the 1st January 2009.
HANDICAPS Boys Maximum 28 Girls maximum 36
Girls will receive courtesy shots equivalent to the difference between the course SSS for the Ladies and Men’s cards. The Girls will then play the men’s card from the Ladies tees.
ORDER OF PLAY Teams shall play games in the ASCENDING order of handicaps starting with the lowest handicap players first.
MATCHES All matches shall be played as SINGLES Full handicap difference. It is strongly recommended that all matches shall be played as normal 2 ball matches. i.e. There will be individual 2 ball matches. If the Home Team Managers have serious "Health, and Safety" risk concerns they have discretion in exceptional circumstances to authorize 2, "2 balls" to be played concurrently. If a match has to be abandoned owing to bad weather without any game coming to a conclusion the match may be re-arranged or may be halved by agreement of both team managers. Provided at least one team fields six players and bad weather intervenes, then three or more completed games shall determine the result and the remaining games which could have been played, halved. Teams which fail to field a complete team shall loose the games where the opposing team have a qualifying player ready to play on the day. Any team which fails to attend the agreed match shall forfeit all games and loose the match. The use of electronic range finders is prohibited in all matches.
FINALS The winners of each league will play as a team of 6 players in an 18 hole stroke play competition played off full handicap. The winning team will be selected by taking the lowest combination of one gross score and four net scores. The teams will then be placed according to their scores. In the event of a tie the net score from the sixth card will be used. If there is still a tie then the lowest handicap player in each of the tied teams will play a sudden death match off full handicap difference starting from the first hole. The winning team will represent the league in the Junior Team Regional Final.
BEHAVIOUR It is expected that teams will change out of the clothes in which they played to a shirt tie before the meal after each match. Players are to respect the local Club House rules and to behave in an appropriate manner both on and off the course. No caddies or coaching is allowed whilst a match is in progress. Any supporters or parents are not permitted to coach any player or to follow a match in such a way as to give the appearance of coaching a player. The team manager is responsible for the behaviour of their team and to ensure Child Protection and Welfare at all times when attending matches.
DISPUTES In the event of a dispute or incident which cannot be resolved locally, the parties concerned shall set out the complaint in writing to the League Secretary. He will then call a meeting as stated in 5.1of the league constitution and notify both parties of the outcome.
PAYMENT The payment of the entry fee will be deemed as acceptance of these rules.
